03 - Rockers Review
1. How does Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace from Rockers compare to the other main characters (Ivan Martin and Derrick Thompson) in the first two films we saw?
Horsemouth is an honest guy but a little carefree with his family, very different than Ivanhoe Martin, who fell into criminal life real quick when the plans for his music career didn't get the results that he expected.
But, in a comparison, Horsemouth gets the upper hand, because he's already an accomplished musician, with people who respects him as a colleague, having a support network that backs him too.
And about Derrick, i find the same motivation to help their communities in trouble, and contribute in some way to improve them.
2. Did you like/dislike the film? Why/Why Not?
I like it because it was a less gratuitous violent film than The Harder They Come, also the final scenes, when the robbery takes place closes the film in a perfect way, mainly because of the production and logistics to film it, and the extra bounty that was delivered to poor jamaicans, (bikes, tv sets and washing machines included) Truly comical, but deeply inspirational about society nowadays.
3. In conclusion to our Jamaican film unit, which was your favorite film of all 3? Why?
It was Ghett' a Life, just because it's a contemporary film that updates jamaican reality a little bit, and it showed us how corrupt are politics when meddle in a appalling way with people lives, not caring about the security and well being of the same persons who elect the positions in elections.

I also liked Getth'a life the most, I think it was more complex and the political issues were well aproached.
